British Airways will resume flights between London Heathrow (LHR) and Dubai International (DXB) on Tuesday 3 November 2026. The restart ends an eight-month suspension on one of the most competitive routes between the UK and the Gulf.
The UK flag carrier withdrew its Dubai services on 28 February 2026, after the conflict involving Iran escalated. The return gives UK passengers a direct BA option to the UAE again, although the airline will run a much smaller schedule than before.
In a statement to Khaleej Times, British Airways said it continues to review its wider Middle East network and remains in direct contact with passengers whose bookings were affected.
The Heathrow–Dubai service will operate once a day throughout the winter 2026/27 season, using Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft.
British Airways plans to increase this to two daily flights in summer 2027, though that would still be below its previous schedule. Before the February suspension, the airline flew three times a day to Dubai and once a day to Abu Dhabi, a total of 28 weekly round trips to the UAE. The winter schedule therefore means two-thirds fewer daily BA flights to Dubai.

Flight timings may change. Passengers should check the latest timetable with British Airways before travelling to the airport.
According to Travel Weekly, economy fares on the returning route start from £340 one-way.
Actual prices will depend on travel dates, seat availability, winter and holiday demand, and fare conditions. Before booking, travellers should compare baggage allowances, seat selection charges and ticket flexibility across the airlines flying to the UAE.
British Airways will not restart its Abu Dhabi route alongside Dubai. The airline plans to resume flights to the UAE capital in the winter 2027–28 season.
Until then, UK passengers heading to Abu Dhabi will need to use other airlines or connecting flights. Another option is to fly into Dubai and continue by road. The drive between the two cities typically takes around 90 minutes to two hours, depending on traffic and exact locations.
With fewer departures than before the suspension, passengers planning UAE travel should keep the following in mind:
Book early for peak dates. With only one BA flight a day, seats over the winter holidays may sell quickly.
Check travel advice. The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office publishes current travel advice for the United Arab Emirates, including entry requirements and security updates.
Confirm your flight. Check your flight status with British Airways before leaving for the airport.
Know your rights. Passengers whose plans were disrupted by the suspension can read the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s guidance on flight delays and cancellations, covering refunds, rebooking and care.
