TUI Airline is adding eight new routes from London Gatwick for summer 2027. The airline will then fly to 59 destinations from the airport.
The new destinations are Athens, Palermo, Santiago de Compostela, Seville, Valencia, Tangier, Djerba and Mytilene. The move comes as rival Jet2 grows its own Gatwick operation after launching there this year.
| Destination | Country |
| Athens | Greece |
| Mytilene (Lesvos) | Greece |
| Palermo | Italy (Sicily) |
| Santiago de Compostela | Spain |
| Seville | Spain |
| Valencia | Spain |
| Tangier | Morocco |
| Djerba | Tunisia |
TUI hasn't yet published start dates or flight days. Across its network, most new routes will run two to three times a week. TUI says they are aimed mainly at flight-only customers, with package holidays also available.
TUI Group's announcement names Gatwick as the largest growth base in its summer 2027 programme across Europe.
Across all its markets, TUI Airline plans a record 17 million seats and 84,000 flights next summer, up 4.6% on 2026. The programme includes 25 new routes from the UK, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, adding around 640,000 seats. New destinations for the airline include places in Spain, Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Tanzania, Cape Verde and Morocco.
TUI Airline chief commercial officer Peter Glade said Gatwick has been central to TUI's UK airline business for more than 60 years. He described growing to 59 destinations as "a natural next step" for the airline at the airport.
Summer 2027 is the first schedule TUI has planned as a single network. For the first time, it combined demand from its own tour operators, outside travel partners and flight-only customers across Europe.
TUI says this helps it use its aircraft more efficiently and put capacity on its best-performing routes. It is also cutting back on indirect flying patterns where it can, to keep operations simpler.
Jet2 started flying from London Gatwick this year. It has confirmed a seventh Gatwick-based aircraft for summer 2027 as it grows in the south of England. Jet2 is also adding Lesvos, so both airlines will now fly to the Greek island from Gatwick.
For travellers in London, the South East and the South West, more competition should mean more choice of destinations, dates and prices.
Tangier and Djerba are outside Europe, and entry rules differ from EU destinations. Check the UK government's travel advice for Morocco and Tunisia before booking. You can check routes and schedules as they open on TUI's UK website.
