Dubai holiday packages from the UK put your return flights and hotel into one booking. Some also add airport transfers, a meal plan or excursions. The right package for you depends on four things: when you travel, which UK airport you fly from, which part of Dubai you stay in, and which board basis you choose.
A direct flight from the UK to Dubai International Airport (DXB) takes around seven hours. British citizens currently get a free visit visa on arrival, valid for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date you arrive. That makes Dubai relatively straightforward to plan for eligible British passport holders. Prices, however, change sharply between winter peak, school holidays and summer.
This guide covers what a package includes, what drives the price, when to go and where to stay. With that in hand, you can compare Dubai holiday deals properly. TravelApp, a UK-based travel agency, can then help you check holiday packages from the UK that match your dates.
Check the FCDO UAE travel advice and your airline before you travel, and take out suitable travel insurance when you book.
A Dubai holiday package is any holiday where two or more travel elements are sold together. The most common combination is flights and hotels to Dubai. The main types are:
Flight + hotel packages: return flights from a UK airport plus a set number of hotel nights. This is the most popular format.
Hotel-only stays: useful if you already hold flights or are using airline points.
All-inclusive Dubai holidays: meals and selected drinks at the resort. These are most common on Palm Jumeirah and along Jumeirah Beach.
Dubai family holidays: family rooms, kids' clubs, and easy access to waterparks and indoor attractions.
Luxury Dubai holidays: five-star resorts, premium room categories and private transfers.
Dubai city breaks: three or four nights, usually in Downtown Dubai or near Dubai Creek. See our weekend and short-break packages.
Dubai beach holidays: resort stays on Palm Jumeirah, JBR or Jumeirah.
Customised packages: a stay split between the city and the beach, or Dubai combined with Abu Dhabi.
Umrah plus Dubai: some Muslim travellers add a Dubai stay to their pilgrimage. An Umrah plus Dubai package combines both in one trip.
The practical value of booking a package is that the pieces fit together. Your flight times, hotel check-in and transfers can be coordinated, and you pay one total price instead of juggling several bookings.
For UK travellers, a Dubai flight and hotel package has several practical advantages:
One booking: there is one reference and one point of contact if flights change.
Clearer budgeting: you see the total cost upfront, rather than a flight price plus a hotel price that may change while you search.
Coordinated arrangements: your arrival time, hotel check-in and any transfer can be planned together.
Support: if an airline changes its schedule, the package organiser can help manage the knock-on effects on your hotel and other arrangements.
Financial protection: flight-inclusive packages sold under ATOL protection carry financial protection if the relevant ATOL holder fails.
Recent disruption to Middle East flight schedules has also shown why it is important to check your airline and booking arrangements before travelling. ATOL protection is separate from general flight disruption rights and travel insurance.
Not always. A Dubai flight-and-hotel package can cost less than booking separately, particularly when a tour operator has access to package-only hotel rates. The saving is not guaranteed, though. Compare the full price both ways for your exact dates, hotel and room type.
Whether a package works out cheaper depends on:
travel dates and school holidays
the airline and departure airport
the hotel, its location and room type
the board basis
whether baggage and transfers are included
the length of your stay
Packages tend to compete well on popular resort hotels in winter. A separate booking can sometimes win when you have flexible dates or use airline points.
ATOL is a UK financial protection scheme run by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). If you book a flight-inclusive package with an ATOL holder and the company fails, you may be entitled to a refund if you haven't travelled yet. If you are already abroad, the scheme can help arrange your return home.
Protection applies only when the booking is sold with ATOL protection, so ask for and keep your ATOL Certificate. ATOL covers the failure of the travel company. It is not travel insurance, and it does not cover delays, illness or a change of plans. Our UK travel insurance guide explains how the two differ. TravelApp's booking conditions explain how your booking is protected.
ABTA is a separate trade association. Its members follow a code of conduct and offer a dispute-resolution service, and ABTA provides financial protection for some non-flight packages. You can read more at ATOL and ABTA.
The price of a Dubai holiday package from the UK depends mainly on your travel month, hotel category and length of stay. A week in a three-star city hotel outside school holidays costs far less than the same week in a Palm Jumeirah resort at Christmas. Always compare the total price for your own dates.
A simple way to set your budget is to think in three tiers:
| Tier | Typical hotel | Typical area | Board basis |
| Budget | 3-star or good-value 4-star | Deira, Bur Dubai, Al Barsha | Room only or breakfast |
| Mid-range | 4-star | Downtown, Dubai Marina, JBR | Breakfast or half board |
| Premium | 5-star resort | Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah | Half board or all inclusive |
Within any tier, these factors move the price most:
Travel month: November to March and UK school holidays are the busiest periods.
Departure airport: fares from London, Manchester and regional airports can differ on the same date.
Hotel location: a beachfront hotel usually costs more than a city hotel of the same star rating.
Room type: sea-view rooms, suites and family rooms add cost.
Board basis: all inclusive raises the upfront price but reduces what you spend in resort.
Baggage and transfers: check that both are included before you compare headline prices.
Length of stay: longer stays sometimes unlock better nightly hotel rates.

Dubai can be expensive, but it doesn't have to be. Hotel rates and eating out at resorts are high by UK standards in peak season. Taxis are relatively affordable, and the Dubai Metro is cheap. Many museums, beaches and the Dubai Fountain show cost little or nothing.
The biggest savings come from travelling outside peak dates and staying in a well-connected city area rather than on the beach.
Dubai has a hot desert climate. Winters are warm and summers are very hot.
Dubai's peak season for UK travellers runs from November to March, when average daytime highs sit roughly in the mid-20s to around 30°C. This is the most comfortable time for beaches and sightseeing. It overlaps with Christmas and February half-term, so demand and prices are usually highest.
January and February are the coolest months, and evenings can feel fresh, so pack a light layer. The sea is cooler too, but many resort pools are comfortable.
April and October fall between Dubai's cooler months and its peak summer heat, with average highs in the low-to-mid 30s°C. September is noticeably hotter, close to summer conditions. These months can offer better value than winter, although October half-term raises family demand.
April is often a good balance for couples. October gets more comfortable as the month goes on. September suits travellers who mainly want pool and indoor time.
Dubai's summer brings average highs of roughly 37–41°C with high humidity, so outdoor sightseeing is best kept to early mornings and evenings. Lower hotel demand means many hotels offer summer rates. This can make four- and five-star hotels more affordable, though school-holiday flight prices can offset the hotel savings.
Summer works well if you plan around air conditioning. Good options include resort pools, malls, the Museum of the Future, indoor theme parks and evening desert safaris. Families should pick a hotel with shade, a kids' club and easy taxi access.
Hotel prices in Dubai are generally lowest in summer, particularly June to August, when demand falls because of the heat. For many UK travellers, June or September can offer good overall value outside school holidays, although flight and hotel prices vary by date.
Two more points are worth considering:
Ramadan: its dates move each year and are expected to fall in February–March 2027. Many visitors find it a calm, meaningful time to visit, and some hotels adjust their rates. Restaurant hours and entertainment may change during daylight hours. Travellers planning a pilgrimage around the same period can compare Umrah packages from the UK.
Events: major events can push hotel prices up for specific weeks, so check your dates.
Emirates operates direct flights to Dubai International Airport (DXB) from London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle. British Airways is scheduled to resume its Heathrow–Dubai service on 3 November 2026, initially with one daily flight, so check current schedules before booking.
| UK airport | Flights to DXB (Sept 2026) | Typical flight time | Best for |
| London Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted | Emirates direct (several daily); BA Heathrow service scheduled to resume 3 November 2026 | About 7 hours | Widest choice of flight times |
| Manchester | Emirates direct (several daily) | About 7 hours | North West, Yorkshire, North Wales |
| Birmingham | Emirates direct | About 7 hours | Midlands |
| Glasgow / Edinburgh | Emirates direct | About 7–7.5 hours | Scotland |
| Newcastle | Emirates direct | About 7–7.5 hours | North East |
| Leeds Bradford, Bristol, Cardiff | Connecting flights | Varies with connection | Travellers who want to avoid a long drive to a hub airport |
Some flights have been running longer than scheduled because of airspace rerouting in 2026. Always check your flight on the day through the airline or Dubai Airports.
A direct flight from the UK to Dubai typically takes around seven hours. Flights from Scotland and the North East can take slightly longer. Indirect flights via another hub usually add several hours, depending on the connection.
Dubai is three hours ahead of the UK during British Summer Time and four hours ahead in winter. Overnight flights from London often land in the morning, so check your hotel's check-in time or book an early check-in.
London has the widest choice of Dubai flights, spread across Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted. For Dubai holidays from London, the airport that suits you best is often simply the one that is easiest to reach. Parking at one airport or an early train to another can change your total cost more than a small difference in fares.
Travellers comparing all inclusive Dubai holidays from London have the most flight-time options. That helps you match an early-morning arrival to a resort check-in. You can compare flights from London alongside your hotel choice.
Manchester Airport has several daily direct Emirates flights to Dubai. For travellers in the North West, Yorkshire and North Wales, this usually removes the need for a trip south. Dubai holidays from Manchester often compare well with London on total cost once rail fares or parking near Heathrow are taken into account. See flights from Manchester to Dubai.
Birmingham Airport gives the Midlands a direct Dubai option without travelling to London. It is particularly convenient for families, because a shorter journey to the airport makes a long-haul day much easier. Check flights from Birmingham to Dubai for available dates.
For first-time visitors, Downtown Dubai is a convenient base for sightseeing, as it is home to the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. For a beach holiday, Palm Jumeirah or JBR suit better. Travellers on a budget can find better value around Deira and Bur Dubai, near Dubai Creek and the Metro.
| Area | Best for | Atmosphere | Beach access | Main attractions | Typical hotel style |
| Downtown Dubai | First-timers, short breaks | Urban, busy | No (short taxi) | Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Dubai Fountain | City high-rise hotels |
| Dubai Marina | Couples, groups | Lively waterfront | Near JBR beach | Marina Walk, dining, boat trips | Towers and apartment hotels |
| JBR | Beach plus city | Relaxed by day, busy by evening | Yes | The Walk, JBR Beach | Beachfront hotels |
| Palm Jumeirah | Luxury, families | Resort, quieter | Yes, often private | Atlantis, beach clubs | Large five-star resorts |
| Jumeirah | Families, quieter beach stays | Residential, low-rise | Yes | Jumeirah public beaches, Madinat Jumeirah | Resorts and boutique hotels |
| Deira / Old Dubai | Budget, culture | Traditional, busy | No | Gold and Spice Souks, Dubai Creek | Mid-range and value hotels |
Palm Jumeirah is an artificial island lined with large beachfront resorts, many of them five-star. It suits luxury Dubai holidays, honeymooners and families who want everything on site. That includes pools, kids' clubs, waterparks and several restaurants.
The trade-off is transport. The Palm Monorail links the island to the mainland, but most sightseeing trips mean taking a taxi, so factor that into your budget. You can browse our luxury holiday packages or the premium all-inclusive Dubai package.
Downtown Dubai puts you within walking distance of the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain. It has a wide choice of restaurants and a Metro connection on Sheikh Zayed Road.
It is the most efficient base for a three- or four-night city break. There is no beach, but JBR and Jumeirah are a short taxi ride away.
Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) sit side by side. You get a waterfront promenade, many restaurants and cafés, and a public beach on the same walk.
The Dubai Tram and Metro connect the area to the rest of the city. It suits couples and groups who want the beach by day and plenty of choice in the evening. Families with young children may find it busy at night.
Deira and Bur Dubai face each other across Dubai Creek, the city's historic heart. You can cross by traditional abra boat and visit the Gold and Spice Souks, the Al Fahidi historical district and the Dubai Museum area. The food here is some of the best value in the city.
Hotels are generally cheaper than in beach areas. The Metro Red Line links Deira to DXB and Downtown. This area is also a practical base for cheap Dubai holiday packages.
A Dubai package holiday usually includes return flights from a UK airport and a set number of hotel nights. Baggage, airport transfers, meals and excursions vary by package, so check what is listed before you compare prices. Never assume an extra is included unless the booking says so.
Flights: check the departure airport, the airline, whether the flight is direct or connecting, and the checked-baggage allowance.
Hotel: check the star rating, location, room type, number of nights and board basis. Two "five-star Dubai" packages can be very different once location and room category are compared.
Transfers: some packages include a shared or private transfer from DXB, and others don't. Taxis from the airport are easy to find, but a pre-booked transfer is simpler with children or late arrivals.
Meals: these range from room only to all inclusive (see the next section).
Optional extras: desert safaris, attraction tickets, private transport and travel insurance are normally added separately.
TravelApp can help you compare Dubai flight-and-hotel options by preferred dates, departure airport and hotel category. The full list of inclusions is shown before you book. For payment options, see our payment policy.
Not sure which Dubai area or hotel works best for your trip? Tell us your dates, budget and travel plans, and TravelApp can help you compare suitable packages.
| Board basis | What's included | Works best for |
| Room only | Accommodation only | City breaks with plenty of eating out |
| Bed and breakfast | Daily breakfast | Sightseeing trips; most Downtown and Marina stays |
| Half board | Breakfast and dinner | Families wanting a predictable food budget |
| Full board | Three meals daily | Resort stays with little time away from the hotel |
| All inclusive | Meals, snacks and selected drinks | Beach resorts, families, travellers staying on site |
Here is a practical guide by type of trip:
Families: half board or all inclusive keeps costs predictable, as resort restaurant prices add up quickly.
Couples: bed and breakfast gives you freedom to explore Dubai's restaurants.
Short city breaks: room only or bed and breakfast, because you will be out most of the day.
Resort holidays on the Palm: all inclusive often makes sense, since leaving the island to eat costs time and taxi fares.
Dubai hotels widely serve halal food. Alcohol availability depends on the hotel, so check the details if an all-inclusive drinks package matters to you. Compare our all-inclusive holiday packages.
Cheaper Dubai trips come from comparing the whole trip rather than chasing the lowest headline price. It helps to think of the price as a chain: airport → flight → hotel area → board basis → total trip cost. Changing one link affects the others.
Compare departure airports, including the cost of getting to each one.
Move your dates by a few days, especially around school holidays.
Consider a different hotel area: a Marina hotel can cost less than a Palm resort of the same rating.
Compare board bases: cheaper room-only rates can end up costing more once you add resort meals.
Check baggage and transfers are included on both options you compare.
Compare room types: a standard room with pool access may be all you need.
Stay flexible on the number of nights, as hotel rates vary by night of the week.
Want to compare the full Dubai holiday cost? TravelApp can help you check flights, baggage, hotels, transfers and board basis together, so you can compare the total package price rather than just the headline fare.
Sometimes. Flight and hotel prices vary by day and demand, so mid-week departures can be cheaper on some dates, but not always. Search a few days either side of your preferred date to see where prices sit.
It can, but the cheapest fare is not always the cheapest trip. A lower price from a distant airport can disappear once you add train fares, parking, an overnight hotel or a longer journey with children. Compare the door-to-door cost, not just the airfare.
Last-minute Dubai deals can be good value outside peak periods, when hotels have unsold rooms. Around Christmas, February half-term and Easter, late bookings usually mean less choice and potentially higher prices. If you need specific flights, family rooms or school-holiday dates, booking earlier gives you more options.
Yes. Dubai is well suited to family holidays. It has calm beaches, resort pools, waterparks and plenty of air-conditioned attractions, and direct flights of around seven hours. Palm Jumeirah and Jumeirah are popular with families, and half board or all inclusive keeps food costs predictable.
Look for family rooms or connecting rooms, kids' clubs, and a pre-booked airport transfer. Indoor attractions help on hotter days. An all-inclusive Dubai package is a simple starting point for families.
Couples: a beachfront hotel at JBR or on the Palm suits relaxation, while Downtown puts dining and the Burj Khalifa on your doorstep. Many couples split a week between the two areas. See our honeymoon packages.
Luxury travellers: Palm Jumeirah five-star resorts, sea-view rooms or suites, private transfers and premium cabins on direct flights are the typical choices.
Budget travellers: Deira and Bur Dubai offer lower hotel rates, good-value food and Metro access. Breakfast-only packages and travel in June or September can help keep costs down.
Most UK travellers find five to seven nights enough for Dubai. That covers the main sights plus a few beach or pool days. Three or four nights works for a city break, and 10–14 nights suits a relaxed resort holiday or a trip combined with Abu Dhabi.
3–4 nights: Downtown base, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, the Creek and a desert safari.
5–7 nights: everything above plus beach days, Dubai Marina and one or two family or theme-park days.
10–14 nights: a split stay (city then beach), day trips and genuine downtime. This is worth it for families after a seven-hour flight.
The easiest way to plan is to match activities to where you stay:
From Downtown: the Burj Khalifa observation decks, the Dubai Mall aquarium, the Dubai Fountain show and the nearby Museum of the Future.
From the Marina or JBR: beach time, the Marina promenade, boat trips and waterfront dining.
From Palm Jumeirah: resort beaches, Aquaventure Waterpark and sunset views back towards the skyline.
From Deira or Bur Dubai: abra rides across Dubai Creek, the Gold and Spice Souks and the Al Fahidi historical district.
Anywhere: a desert safari. Most tours collect you from your hotel in the afternoon and include dinner at a desert camp.

British citizens travelling on a full British citizen passport do not need to apply for a UAE visitor visa in advance. A free visitor or tourist visa is issued on arrival and is valid for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date you arrive.
Always check the FCDO UAE entry requirements before you travel, as rules can change. Other British nationality passports and non-UK passports may have different rules. The government's foreign travel checklist covers the documents to prepare before any trip abroad.
Medication: the UAE has strict rules on some medicines, and certain controlled or restricted medicines need approval before you travel. Check the FCDO guidance.
Customs: it is illegal to bring pork products into the UAE.
Currency: UAE dirham (AED). Cards are widely accepted.
Time difference: Dubai is 3 hours ahead of UK summer time and 4 hours ahead in winter.
Language: Arabic is the official language, and English is widely spoken.
Airport: Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the main arrival airport. It is linked to the city by the Metro Red Line and taxis.
Local transport: Dubai Metro, Dubai Tram, taxis and ride-hailing apps.
Travel insurance: buy it when you book, and check that it covers disruption, pre-existing conditions and your planned activities. Our travel insurance checklist for UK travellers explains what to look for.

The cost depends mostly on when you go, where you stay and your hotel's star rating. A budget week in a Deira hotel outside school holidays costs far less than a Palm Jumeirah resort in December. Compare the total price for your own dates, with baggage and transfers included.
Most Dubai packages include return flights from a UK airport and your hotel nights. Checked baggage, airport transfers, meals and excursions depend on the package. Read the inclusions before comparing deals so you are comparing like for like.
It can be, but not every time. Packages sometimes use hotel rates that are only available when combined with a flight. On other dates, booking separately wins. Price your exact flights, hotel and room both ways before deciding.
Summer, especially June to August, usually has the lowest hotel rates because of the heat. For UK travellers, June and September can offer good overall value outside school holidays, but prices vary by date.
No advance visa application is normally needed for British citizens travelling on a full British citizen passport. A free visitor visa is issued on arrival and is valid for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport needs at least six months' validity from your arrival date. Check GOV.UK before you travel.
Direct flights from UK airports to Dubai International Airport take around seven hours, a little longer from Scotland and the North East. Connecting flights take several hours more. Dubai is three to four hours ahead of the UK.
The best airport is usually the one closest to you with a direct flight. Emirates flies direct from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle. Compare the door-to-door cost, including parking or train fares, not just the fare.
Downtown Dubai is a convenient base for first-time visitors and sightseeing. Palm Jumeirah suits luxury beach resorts and families, Dubai Marina and JBR suit couples who want the beach and restaurants, and Deira offers good value for budget travellers.
Dubai can be expensive in peak season, particularly for beachfront resorts and hotel dining. It becomes much more affordable if you travel outside school holidays, stay in Deira or Bur Dubai, use the Metro and choose a board basis that fits how you eat.
Five to seven nights suits many first visits, with time for sightseeing and beach days. Three or four nights works as a city break. Ten nights or more suits a slower resort holiday or a combined Dubai and Abu Dhabi trip.
