Flights to Riyadh from the UK arrive at King Khalid International Airport (RUH). The fastest option is a nonstop flight from London Heathrow with Saudia or Riyadh Air, taking around 6 hours 30 minutes. Riyadh Air also flies nonstop from Manchester. One-stop fares via Dubai or Doha can sometimes cost less.
Direct flights to Riyadh are now more varied than a year ago. Riyadh Air has joined Saudia at Heathrow, Manchester has its first nonstop link, and British Airways is scheduled to return from November 2026. Because fares, baggage and flexibility differ between carriers, compare the total price before you book.
Check Riyadh Flight Availability
No single route is always the cheapest to Riyadh. The best-value option usually comes from comparing nonstop Heathrow and Manchester fares with one-stop Gulf itineraries on the same dates, then checking the total price with baggage.
What drives the fare:
Nonstop vs one-stop. Stopover flight savings are possible via Dubai or Doha, but the journey takes longer.
Carrier competition. Two nonstop airlines on Heathrow–Riyadh give travellers more fare choice. A third returns if BA resumes as scheduled.
Day of travel. Corporate demand is strong on Sunday and Thursday business travel patterns, so midweek leisure fares can sometimes be lower.
Riyadh Season travel spikes. Major events in the capital can push up fares and hotel rates.
Baggage and flexibility. Basic fares may cost less upfront but include less.
London Heathrow and Manchester both offer direct flights to Riyadh. Heathrow has nonstop services with Saudia and Riyadh Air. Manchester has a nonstop Riyadh Air service on selected days each week.
Heathrow has the most frequent nonstop flights, and it will have more if British Airways resumes in November 2026. Travellers in the north can compare flights from Manchester, including Riyadh Air's Manchester–Riyadh service, against the cost and time of reaching London. Travellers from other airports can compare flights from Birmingham and other regional one-stop options.
There is no fixed ideal booking window for Riyadh. Book early for Riyadh Season events, UK school holidays and Christmas. Off-peak travellers often have more flexibility, although fares can rise as seats sell.
Airlines release fares in price bands, and the lower bands sell first. Corporate travellers who need flexible tickets should compare fare conditions as well as price. Late deals do appear, but last-minute flight deals are less predictable during major events in Riyadh.

King Khalid International Airport (RUH) is Riyadh's main international airport, north of the city centre. It has five terminals, and assignments changed in February 2026, so always check your boarding pass.
Current layout, subject to change:
Terminals 1 and 2: International flights on Saudi carriers. Saudia and Riyadh Air use Terminal 2.
Terminals 3 and 4: Domestic flights.
Terminal 5: International flights on foreign airlines, such as Emirates and British Airways.
Terminals 1 to 4 are linked on foot, and Terminal 5 is reached by shuttle bus. The Riyadh Metro connects the airport with the city. See Riyadh Airports for current passenger information.
Nonstop UK flights on Saudia and Riyadh Air arrive at RUH Terminal 2, not Terminal 4. Since 2026, Terminal 4 handles domestic flights only. Terminal 4 is the London Heathrow terminal these airlines depart from.
This mix-up is common: Terminal 4 is the correct answer at Heathrow but not in Riyadh. Travellers on foreign carriers such as Emirates or Qatar Airways usually use Terminal 5 at RUH. Onward domestic flights leave from Terminals 3 and 4.
Business class lounge access at RUH depends on your airline and terminal. Saudia, Riyadh Air and several alliance partners provide lounges for eligible premium passengers, and paid-access lounges are also available.
Riyadh Air has opened its own lounge at RUH for eligible passengers. Check your fare, cabin and status to confirm lounge entry at both Heathrow and Riyadh.
