About Flights to Ibiza

Direct flights to Ibiza leave from more than 20 UK airports in summer, and most take between two and three hours. Jet2, easyJet, Ryanair, TUI and British Airways all fly the route, but almost every service is seasonal. That means the airport, airline and fare that work in June may not exist in November.

This guide explains when fares tend to be better value, which UK airports fly direct, what each airline includes in the price, and how to get from Ibiza Airport to your hotel or villa. If you already know your dates, the TravelApp team can compare the options for you.

When Is the Cheapest Time to Fly to Ibiza?

Flights to Ibiza are usually better value in May, June and late September than in July and August. The school holidays push demand up across the whole summer peak, and fares tend to follow. No single month is always cheapest, though, because prices also depend on your airport, the day you fly and how full the plane is.

Ibiza's big club nights add another layer. Opening parties in late April and May, and closing parties in late September and early October, bring extra demand on those weekends. If you are travelling for the beaches rather than the clubs, avoiding those dates can widen your choice.

Travel period

What to expect

Worth knowing

May to June

Warm weather, fewer families, more seat choice

Opening party weekends and May half-term can be busy

July to August

Peak heat and peak demand

School holidays usually mean higher fares and hotel prices

September to October

Warm sea, quieter beaches

Closing party weekends are popular; routes start to wind down in late October

When should you book flights to Ibiza?

For July and August, or any school holiday, booking early is the safer choice. Families need seats together and popular departure times fill first, so waiting rarely helps. Jet2 has already put its summer 2027 programme on sale, including Ibiza, so you can start comparing now. Other airlines usually follow, so check whether your preferred route is bookable yet.

For quieter dates, you have more room to watch prices. There is no magic number of weeks that guarantees the lowest fare, so compare a few dates and book when the total price, including bags, looks right for you.

Are flights to Ibiza cheaper midweek?

They can be. Friday and Saturday departures are popular with groups and short breaks, so a midweek flight sometimes costs less. It is not a rule, though, and some routes only run on certain days anyway.

Which UK Airports Have Direct Flights to Ibiza?

More than 20 UK airports have direct flights to Ibiza in summer, including all the main London airports, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast. Most routes run from around April or May to October.

Direct flights from London to Ibiza

London has six airports with direct Ibiza flights, so it pays to compare them rather than treating London as one option. Stansted has the most choice, with British Airways, Jet2 and Ryanair all flying the route in summer.

Which Airlines Fly to Ibiza from the UK?

Jet2, easyJet, Ryanair, TUI and British Airways all fly direct from the UK to Ibiza. The best choice depends on your airport, your dates and how much luggage you are bringing, not just the headline fare.

Low headline fares: easyJet and Ryanair

easyJet and Ryanair often show the lowest starting prices. Those fares include only a small bag that fits under the seat, so a larger cabin bag or a suitcase costs extra. For a weekend with very little luggage, that can work well. For a week with a suitcase, the gap with other airlines often closes.

Leisure and full-service options: Jet2, TUI and British Airways

Jet2 includes a 10kg cabin bag on every fare, which makes it easier to compare like for like. TUI sells many of its seats as part of holiday packages, though flight-only seats are often available too. British Airways includes a cabin bag and a small personal item, and checked luggage depends on the fare you choose.

Jet2

easyJet

London and large regional airports

Ryanair

Stansted and regional routes, light packers

TUI

British Airways

Baggage Allowances: What Is Included in Your Ibiza Flight?

Baggage is often the biggest difference between a cheap-looking fare and a cheap trip. Always compare the final price with the bags you actually need.

Jet2

On busy flights, cabin bags may be moved to the hold unless you add Guaranteed Cabin Luggage

easyJet

One small under-seat bag up to 45 x 36 x 20cm

Ryanair

One small personal bag that fits under the seat

Paid add-on (Priority and 2 Cabin Bags)

Current bag sizes on Ryanair's baggage page

You can check the latest rules directly on the Jet2 baggage page, easyJet's cabin bag guide and Ryanair's baggage policy. If you are comparing several airlines at once, checking hand luggage sizes for UK airlines side by side saves a nasty surprise at the gate.

When do you need to pay for checked luggage?

On most Jet2, easyJet and Ryanair fares, a suitcase in the hold costs extra. Jet2's hold bags go up to 22kg each, while easyJet and Ryanair offer different weight options. Bag prices can rise closer to departure, so add them when you book if you know you will need one. Package holidays often include checked luggage, which is worth factoring in when you compare.

Comparing fares with different baggage rules can get confusing. Tell TravelApp how many bags you are taking, and the team will compare the like-for-like total. Send your trip details.

What Happens When You Land at Ibiza Airport?

Ibiza Airport (IBZ) is the island's only airport and sits about 7km south-west of Ibiza Town. It has a single terminal, and because Ibiza is small, most resorts are under 40 minutes away by road. The airport can get very busy on summer Saturdays, so allow extra time on your return. The official Ibiza Airport website has the latest terminal information.

Bus, taxi or private transfer: which should you choose?

Ibiza's airport buses now run under new route names. According to Aena, the AERO3 line links the airport with Ibiza Town, AERO1 runs to Sant Josep and San Antonio, and AERO4 serves Santa Eulària and Cala Nova. AERO1 and AERO4 started their 2026 season on 1 April, so check the current timetable on the Aena bus page before you travel.

  • Bus: the lowest-cost option, best for light packers heading to Ibiza Town, San Antonio or Santa Eulària.

  • Taxi: licensed taxis wait outside arrivals. Queues can be long at busy times in summer.

  • Private transfer: often the easiest choice for families, groups and late arrivals, as the driver meets you on arrival.

  • Car hire: useful for villa stays and quieter beaches in the north and west.

Arriving late or travelling as a group? A package with transfers included can take the stress out of the first night. Browse holiday packages from the UK or ask the team to price flights, a hotel and transfers together.

Can You Fly Direct to Ibiza in Winter?

For most UK travellers, no. Nearly all UK routes to Ibiza are seasonal and stop in late October. Some London services, particularly British Airways from London City, may operate over a longer season, so check your dates before ruling out a direct flight.

If there is no direct flight on your dates, the usual option is to connect in mainland Spain. Spanish airlines fly to Ibiza from Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and Palma all year. When you compare connections, check the total journey time, whether your bags go all the way through, and whether both flights are on a single ticket. A single ticket gives you more protection if the first flight is delayed.

Essential Travel Checks Before You Fly

British citizens can visit Spain, including Ibiza, without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Your passport must meet two rules on the day you travel:

  • It must have been issued less than 10 years before the day you arrive.

  • It must be valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave.

These are two separate checks. A passport can still be in date but fail the 10-year issue rule, especially if it was renewed early under old rules. Border officers may also ask to see your return ticket and where you are staying.

The EU's Entry/Exit System (EES) now records non-EU travellers' fingerprints and photos at the border, so you may notice extra checks on arrival. You can read more about European border control after Brexit, and always confirm the latest Spain entry requirements on GOV.UK before you go.

Things to Check Before Booking Your Flight to Ibiza

Time zone

Ibiza uses Central European Time (CET) in winter and Central European Summer Time (CEST) during daylight saving. It is usually one hour ahead of the UK throughout the year, as both countries change their clocks on the same dates.

Currency

The euro (EUR) is the local currency. Cards and contactless payments are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, beach clubs and shops. Carrying some cash can still be useful for local markets, smaller businesses and certain services.

Language

Spanish is the official language of Ibiza, while Catalan is also an official language of the Balearic Islands. English is widely spoken in popular tourist areas, including Ibiza Town, Playa d'en Bossa and San Antonio.

Transportation

Local buses connect Ibiza Town with major resorts and other parts of the island, with additional services often operating during the summer season. Taxis and hire cars are also available, although traffic and parking can be challenging around busy resorts. If you plan to visit quieter coves and beaches, check transport options in advance, as services may be limited outside peak areas.

Weather

Ibiza has a Mediterranean climate, with hot, sunny summers and mild winters. June to September is popular for beach holidays and nightlife, while spring and early autumn can offer more comfortable conditions for sightseeing and exploring the island. Some seasonal beach clubs, boat trips and attractions have reduced hours or close during winter, so check opening dates before travelling.

Baggage allowances

Baggage rules depend on the airline, fare type and cabin. Check both cabin and checked baggage allowances before comparing flights to Ibiza from the UK, particularly on low-cost fares where extras may cost more. If you plan to take beach equipment or extra luggage for a longer stay, include those costs when comparing fares.

Pre-booking options

Seat selection, checked baggage, airport transfers, travel insurance, car hire, boat trips and selected club or attraction tickets may be available to arrange before departure. Popular beach clubs, boat excursions and summer events can sell out or require advance reservations, especially in July and August. Compare the full holiday cost with the extras you actually need rather than looking only at the starting airfare.

Airport and flight options

Ibiza Airport (IBZ) is the island's main airport and serves Ibiza Town and the surrounding resorts. It is particularly busy during the summer season, when more seasonal services operate from the UK and other European destinations. Check your arrival time and onward transfer arrangements, especially if you are staying in San Antonio or at a resort on the other side of the island.

Schedule flexibility

Comparing different UK departure airports and nearby dates can give you more choice of airlines and fares. Summer weekends, school holidays and major music events can increase demand, so travelling midweek or outside the busiest summer weeks may offer better value.

Entry requirements

British citizens can visit Spain, including Ibiza, without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, subject to Schengen entry conditions. Passports must meet the relevant issue-date and expiry rules, and European Entry/Exit System (EES) checks apply at the border. Confirm the latest requirements on GOV.UK before departure.
