TravelApp UK compares flight options to Indonesia from all major UK airports to find an efficient, cost-effective route for your budget. There are currently no direct flights from the UK to Indonesia, but major airlines offer one-stop and two-stop routes from London Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham and other UK airports.
Indonesia has several international arrival airports, and the right one depends on where you are heading, from Bali's Denpasar Airport (DPS) to Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta (CGK) or regional gateways like Surabaya and Medan. Search flights from your nearest UK airport and compare connections, journey times and fare conditions. If you would like help choosing, our UK team can compare the options with you.
TravelApp UK is a UK travel agency based in Burnley. We arrange long-haul flights, multi-city trips and island-hopping holidays.
Routes to the right arrival airport: Indonesia is a country of thousands of islands, so the airport you land at matters as much as the flight. We compare itineraries by UK departure airport, travel dates and the connections available.
Clear fare details before you pay: we talk you through total journey time, the number and length of stopovers, baggage allowances, ticket change rules and the total payable amount, so you know exactly what your ticket covers.
Flights and holidays: if you also need accommodation, ask us about a flight-and-hotel package for your dates.
IATA accredited agent: we issue airline tickets directly.
ATOL protection: TravelApp UK is an ATOL holder, and eligible flight bookings receive an ATOL Certificate. See our booking conditions, and read how to spot a fake travel agency online.
24/7 support from real people: speak to our team before, during or after your trip on +44 20 3137 0990, by email at info@travelapp.co.uk or on WhatsApp.
Flexible ways to pay: pay by credit or debit card, Google Pay or PayPal. Eligible bookings, such as holiday packages, can use instalments, Klarna or Fly Now Pay Later, subject to status. Klarna runs its own eligibility checks, and missed payments can lead to a booking being cancelled or affect your credit. See our payment policy and our guide to book now, pay later and deposit schemes.
Fly into the airport closest to your final destination, to limit the need for separate domestic flights. For most UK holidaymakers that is Denpasar (DPS) in Bali. Jakarta (CGK) suits the capital and Java, and has the widest choice of connections. All UK journeys to Indonesia currently involve at least one stop.

If you are visiting more than one island, compare flying into one airport and home from another. Domestic flights within Indonesia are often booked separately, so check connection times and baggage carefully.
Planning a Bali trip? See our dedicated Bali flights page for Bali-specific routes and booking advice.
The cheapest flight to Indonesia comes from comparing several dates, departure airports and connections, then checking the full cost of the itinerary, including baggage and getting to the airport. The lowest headline fare is not always the best value.
Avoid peak dates where you can: fares rise during UK school holidays in July and August, Christmas and New Year, and around Eid al-Fitr. Moving your dates by two or three days can change the fare, though flexibility does not always lower it.
Compare arrival airports: where it suits your destination, compare Jakarta and Bali, as they often have different fares on the same dates.
Check alternative UK airports: Manchester has one-stop options without travelling to London.
Add baggage before you compare: the lowest economy fares are sometimes cabin baggage only, so add the cost of a 20kg to 30kg checked bag first.
Consider open-jaw (multi-city) tickets: if you are visiting several islands, flying into Jakarta (CGK) and home from Bali (DPS) can avoid backtracking. Our checklist for multi-city and long-haul trips covers what to confirm.
Check connection times: some cheaper tickets have very short connections or layovers of 15 hours or more. Decide whether a saving is worth the extra hours.
Watch for separate tickets: some low fares combine unrelated flights, and a missed connection may not be covered.
Compare the final payable amount before booking.
Fares change with demand and availability, so search your dates above for current prices. Rather than comparing every combination yourself, ask our team to shortlist suitable options. Our guide on how to find cheap flights from the UK has more tips.
No UK airport has a nonstop flight to Indonesia. London and Manchester have the widest choice of one-stop itineraries, and other UK airports usually connect through a hub. Having an itinerary from an airport is not the same as a nonstop flight.

Journey times are from Singapore Airlines, KAYAK and Cheapflights data checked on 29 October 2026, and include connections. Schedules change, so check the itinerary for your dates.
Heathrow and Gatwick offer the most airline and connection choices to Jakarta and Bali, including Qatar Airways via Doha and Emirates via Dubai. See all flights from London.
Singapore Airlines flies from Manchester via Singapore to Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya and Medan, so northern travellers can avoid the trip to London. Compare flights from Manchester.
From Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds Bradford or Newcastle, itineraries usually connect through a Gulf, European or Asian hub, such as Istanbul with Turkish Airlines, and some need two stops. Compare flights from Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds or Newcastle against a London or Manchester departure.
Edinburgh and Glasgow connect to Indonesia via one or more hubs, for example with Emirates via Dubai or KLM via Amsterdam. Total time varies widely, so check each itinerary. See flights from Edinburgh and flights from Glasgow.
No. There are currently no nonstop flights from the UK to Indonesia, so every journey connects at least once. Garuda Indonesia previously flew nonstop between London and Jakarta, but that route is no longer operating. Schedules can change, so check current options for your dates.
Common connecting hubs in current itineraries:
Singapore Changi (SIN)
Doha (DOH)
Dubai (DXB)
Kuala Lumpur (KUL)
Hong Kong (HKG)
Istanbul (IST)
Guangzhou (CAN)
Shanghai (PVG)
When comparing connecting itineraries, check:
Number of stops. One stop is usually simpler than two.
Layover length. A long wait can add many hours to your journey.
One ticket or separate tickets. On one ticket, the airline generally rebooks you if a delay causes a missed connection. On separate tickets, you may have to buy a new flight.
Baggage. Confirm whether your bags are checked through to Indonesia or must be collected and checked in again.
Airport changes and immigration. Some itineraries need a terminal or airport change, or entry into the connecting country. Check transit rules for your passport.
If you would like a few nights in the hub city, see our guide to multi-city and stopover holidays.

A flight from the UK to Indonesia usually takes around 15 to 20 hours in total on the quickest one-stop connections. Many itineraries take 20 to 30 hours or more. London to Jakarta is typically the fastest route.

Total journey time includes layovers, not only time in the air. It varies with your UK airport, Indonesian airport, airline, number of stops and date. Regional UK departures and secondary Indonesian airports such as Lombok or Makassar add more time.
Check Flight Times and Fares
There is no single cheapest month for every Indonesian route. In October 2026, two fare-comparison sites both pointed to November as lower-priced for UK to Indonesia. Fares still vary by destination, route and date, and differ between Bali, Jakarta and other airports.
Higher demand: UK school summer holidays (July and August), Christmas and New Year, and Indonesian holiday periods such as the end of Ramadan.
Bali has its own peaks, which may differ from Jakarta.
Flexible dates are the most practical way to compare.
Search a range of dates and, where it suits your trip, more than one arrival airport.
Compare Dates for Indonesia Flights
There is no single booking window that guarantees the lowest fare. Comparison sites suggest anything from about six weeks to three months for UK to Indonesia, and prices can rise or fall. Our guide on the best time to book flights explains more.
If your dates are fixed, especially in school holidays or at Christmas, start comparing early enough to review several routings without rushing. Booking early does not guarantee the lowest price, and last-minute flight deals are less reliable at peak times. Always check baggage and ticket conditions before you choose.
Yes, you can ask TravelApp UK to arrange flights and accommodation together. That gives you one quotation, one point of contact and travel dates that fit your stay. Qualifying flight-inclusive packages are ATOL protected, and your ATOL Certificate shows the cover.

Indonesia has three time zones and does not change its clocks. Jakarta is 7 hours ahead of the UK in winter, and Bali is 8 hours ahead. Both are 1 hour less during British Summer Time.
Indonesian rupiah (IDR). Cards are accepted in hotels and larger restaurants, but cash is useful for markets, local transport and smaller shops.
Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia). English is common in hotels and tourist areas.
Domestic flights link the main islands. Ride-hailing apps such as Grab and Gojek are widely used in cities, and traffic in Jakarta and Bali can be heavy.
Tropical all year, with a drier season around April to October and a wetter season around November to March in much of the country.
These can be lower on domestic Indonesian flights than on your long-haul ticket.

Compare flexible dates, UK departure airports and Indonesian arrival airports such as Jakarta (CGK) and Bali (DPS). Then check baggage, connections and the total price before booking.
No. There are currently no nonstop UK to Indonesia flights. Travellers connect via hubs such as Singapore, Doha, Dubai or Kuala Lumpur, depending on the airline and date.
Jakarta (CGK) often has lower fares and more connections than Bali, but it depends on your dates and airline. If Bali is your destination, compare a flight straight to Denpasar (DPS) with flying into Jakarta plus a domestic flight, including the extra time and baggage costs.
Yes. British tourists can get a 30-day visa on arrival or an e-VOA before travel. They must also complete the All Indonesia declaration before arrival. Check GOV.UK for current rules.
Choose the airport nearest your destination. Most holidaymakers fly into Denpasar (DPS) for Bali, which is the island's only international airport. Jakarta (CGK) suits the capital and Java, and has the widest range of connections.
Yes. Every route connects, so you can add a few nights in a hub city such as Singapore, Dubai or Doha before your final flight. Ask our team to build a stopover into your itinerary.
